We used Skype to ask and answer questions about our home life, school, lessons and favourite sports. It was amazing to hear such good English from their children. They taught us to say hello and goodbye in Portuguese ("hoy" or "ola" for hello, "ciao" for goodbye). Here it was 4pm, there it was 12pm and they were just about to go for lunch.

The idea is to "WOW", that is to "Walk Once a Week" . you can walk anywhere and for any reason, but we would like to hear about it! Please ask your child to add their WOW to their class list, and there will be prizes for the classes with the most WOWs happening! (Of course, that's not to say you can only WOW; you might decide to WTW, it's just not as easy to say!!)

We have looked at the class sheets and wanted to say WELL DONE to 2C who had the most children walking to school, 4C with the most cyclists, and Happy Hearts for the most children scooting to school.

It will soon be our "WOW" Week (Walk Once a Week), where we encourage our families to try to walk somewhere at least once a week. We recently did a Transport survey, and collected data on how our children come to school. Today Meteors members looked at the data and began to work out what it shows us about travelling to school.

Another group looked at how to raise the profile of our ECOcode. This is something every ECOschool has to have, but we know ours is not refered to very much. Here it is:

We are also hoping to hold a 2nd hand book sale during the summer term. Our final group today began to think about how this might run and what we need to do to make it a success.

They will check if they think we are still doing enough to keep our Green Flag status, and will hopefully award us a new one, as ours has not enjoyed the wild Yorkshire weather, and is looking a little frayed!

Mrs S has now submitted our application to be considered, and we are waiting to hear if we can welcome our ECOschools guest this summer.
