Mrs R Harle

I am a parent Governor and was lucky enough to be elected in February 2011. I am the chair of the Standards and Attainment Committee and I am the governor with specific responsibilities for Literacy and Early Years. I am also the governor representative on the school’s Eco Team.

I have two children; my daughter is at Moorlands and my son now attends Salendine Nook High. I’ve been a parent at Moorlands since 2004 and I am totally committed to the school and its future success and development for many years to come. I am now a stay at home mum but previously worked as an Environmental Health Officer for 15 years.

Becoming a school governor is a big commitment, but I believe that the involvement in our children’s education is one of the most important roles we have as parents. I enjoyed school and I’ve benefited from my own education. I want our children, no matter what their academic ability or background, to have a positive experience at school and be able to fulfil their full potential as adults. Getting a good education at primary school is crucial to achieve this.

Moorlands is a great school with fantastic facilities and dedicated staff. I really enjoy going into school and spending time with the children – it really is the best bit of being a governor!

As well as my governor duties, I also come into school each week as a ‘Reading Friend’ to share and enjoy books and reading with Year 3 pupils.
